Richie Bernardo is a financial writer at WalletHub. He graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism and a minor in business from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Previously, Richie was a journalism intern at the European Youth Forum in Brussels, Belgium, a section editor at Vox Magazine, a reporter for the Columbia Missourian, and the editor of [sh]out Magazine, a semesterly publication at the University of Missouri that covers LGBTQ-related issues. His work has appeared in other publications such as The Hattiesburg Post and YO! (Youth Opinion) Magazine. He also has served as secretary of the only university chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association in the United States. Richie was born in the Philippines and grew up in Kansas City, Mo., home to America's best barbecue.
