Marlo Thomas
Marlo Thomas graduated from the University of Southern California with a teaching degree. She is the author of two best-selling books, Free to Be…You and Me and Free to Be…a Family. In her new book, The Right Words at the Right Time, Marlo is joined by such luminaries as Walter Cronkite, Cal Ripken, Jr., Steven Spielberg, Venus Williams, First Lady Laura Bush, and Muhammad Ali, among many others, who each tell a story of a crucial turning point in their lives brought about by the right words at the right time. All royalties from this book will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which was founded in 1962 by Danny Thomas and, to this day, continues to provide care from children all over the world who suffer from catastrophic diseases. No child is ever turned away for a family’s inability to pay. Ms. Thomas has won four Emmys, the Peabody Award, and has been inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame for her work in television, including the long-running, hit television series, That Girl, which she conceived, produced, and starred in. She serves on the Professional Advisory Board and as the National Outreach Director for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and makes her home in New York with her husband, Phil Donahue.
