Amity Shlaes

Amity Shlaes chairs the board of the Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation. A syndicated Forbes columnist, she is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Greedy Handand The Forgotten Man, of which there are more than 300,000 copies in print. Shlaes earlier served on the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal. She chairs The Manhattan Institute’s Hayek Prize, the foremost prize for free market books, of which she is also a winner. She has also won the Bastiat Prize for journalism. Currently, Shlaes teaches economics of the 1930s at New York University Stern School of Business.
